The Hawth Crawley

The theatre is mainly used to house touring productions, and regularly hosts a wide variety of productions from West End musicals to ballet, opera, pantomime and family shows, music and stand up and prides itself on the sheer breadth and distinct quality of the show it receives for the people of Crawley and the south east. Located in 38 acres of woodland half a mile from the town centre, the Hawth is an arts and entertainments venue with a capacity for up to 855 people.

The main auditorium itself can be converted to accommodate exhibitions, parties, weddings, conferences and if required, a flat floor configuration. The stage is approximately 21 metres and 13 metres deep, and is equipped to an exemplary standard with full sound, lighting, flying and stage facilities.

The Studio provides a smaller 146-seater performance space, which hosts small scale contemporary theatre, dance, film, jazz, blues, folk and comedy as well as live screenings from stages around the world.

There is an amphitheatre set in the woodland at the rear of the theatre where summer productions are often performed including productions of family shows and Shakespeare, as well as being used as a stage for Hawth Youth Theatre productions.

Other spaces include a permanent foyer exhibition space on two levels, an on-site restaurant, two fully-licensed bars, a sprung-floor Dance Studio, providing regular classes and workshops in ballet, street dance, Yoga and Zumba and a participatory arts space The Loft. During the summer the grounds of the venue are used to host popular annual events including the annual Irish Festival.
